Mia Ushakov

2025 Hansen Graduate Stage/Production

I was born in Finland. Grew up in France, where I attended a French school through to university. Currently, I am pursuing my studies at the University of Exeter in England.

From an early age, I was immersed in the world of theatre and the arts through my family’s involvement in Slava’s SnowShow (https://slavasnowshow.com), created by my grandfather, Slava Polunin. Being surrounded by this celebrated production and the passion of my family instilled in me a deep appreciation for theatre. It was through these experiences that I realized my desire to dedicate my life to the performing arts. Touring with productions and bringing joy to audiences worldwide has become a driving force in my career aspirations.

At university, I actively participate in a variety of productions, honing and expanding my skills. These opportunities have solidified my passion for working in theatre, particularly in lighting design and stage roles. My experiences have confirmed that being part of the creative and technical processes behind a show is where I thrive.
