Kat Stewart

Kat Stewart has been an ensemble member of Red Stitch since 2002, appearing in over a dozen plays for the company including The Little Dog LaughedThe Shape of ThingsRabbit Hole, Bugand Loyal Women. She has also worked with MTC on Festen and Frost/Nixon. Kat received Green Room Awards in 2004 and 2006, and nominations in 2004 and 2008.

For television, Kat is best known for playing Billie Proudman in the hit show Offspring. Kat also features in television shows Tangle, Mr & Mrs Murder I and Jack Irish. Her portrayal of Roberta Williams on the highly acclaimed first series of Underbelly earnt her the AFI Award for Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama and the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actress.

Kat made her feature film debut in Alkinos Tsimillios’ Em for Jay and played Lady Macduff in Geoffrey Wright’s contemporary retelling of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

Other television credits include Andrew Denton’s comedy series, 30 Seconds and Shaun Micallef’s world affairs satire, Newstopia (SBS), the BBC2 comedy series, Supernova for which she earned a Logie nomination (Most Outstanding New Talent) as well as recurring roles on City Homicide, Kick, and Last Man Standing.
