PRODUCTION INFORMATION
The Bronze Age. The Iron Age. The Age of Oil.
The Stone Age didn’t end for want of stones. May and her daughter Amy forge through the world as it transforms around them; lit by kerosene lamp in 1889, through to Tehran in 1908, Hampstead in 1970, Baghdad in 2021, returning to Cornwall in 2051.
Ella Hickson’s epic, explosive play traces the evolution of the oil industry; exploring the relationship between power, progress and destruction in a hurtling collision of empire, history and family.
