Chanella is a Melbourne based actor and theatre-maker from the Blue Mountains, Sydney. Graduating in 2017 from the VCA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Practise – she was the recipient of the Patricia Kennedy Award and Valedictorian of the University of Melbourne VCA and MCM. VCA credits include Kattrin in Mother Courage (dir. Chris Kohn) and Sandra in Gordon Graham’s The Boys (dir. Alister Smith). In 2016 she worked with ATYP for their Fresh Ink program and performed with MKA: Theatre of New Writing. In 2017 she worked with the New Working Group on the play reading The Sun and The Moon (dir. Bridget Balodis), La Mama Theatre for Woman with a Tomahawk (dir. Iris Gaillard) and Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre for their annual PLAYlist (dir. Mark Wilson, Bridget Balodis) and Suddenly Last Summer (dir. Stephen Nicolazzo). Chanella is a creator, writer and performer of Speak of the Devil for Melbourne Fringe 2017 and Adelaide Fringe 2018. In 2018 she played Deborah in Crazy Brave for La Mama Theatre and worked for the University of Melbourne facilitating Acting It Out, their inaugural outreach program for secondary school students.
