It has been an overwhelmingly exciting year for us at Red Stitch – sellout houses, new audiences, loyal subscribers, regional tours and a season of acclaimed new work. And, with thanks to you – a small step in the right direction with an increase to our artists fees. We are growing and the outlook for the next 6 months is no exception.
However, the Federal Government budget reform to the Arts, announced last month, has sent waves of uncertainty through our community. Red Stitch are among those now vulnerable to funding cuts. Grant applications that were well underway have been scrapped as relevant programs evaporate.
We need our community’s support now more than ever! We are committed to advancing the vitality of Australian theatre through nurturing artists and an unerring pursuit of integrity in our craft. But without our audience, theatre doesn’t exist. We ask you, our community, to do what you can to ensure Red Stitch is alive and vibrant for years to come.
What can you do?
