Martin received a drama scholarship to Kingswood college in 2000. His first acting role was a guest part on Something in the Air aged eleven. Other screen work includes the internationally acclaimed short film, Oranges, TV series Stingers and Blue Heelers, as well as ongoing roles in children’s television series, Fergus McPhail, the title role in Scooter: secret agent, and Hollies Heroes. In 2005 Martin performed in the play Angels at the Arts centre, then left for London were he performed in The Streets – a fringe show of monologues in Hammersmith. Returning to Melbourne in 2006, Martin played a lead in his first film Lake Mungo, released late 2007. After appearing in Rabbit Hole for Red Stitch, Martin joined the company as a new ensemble member in 2007.
Martin was nominated for a Green Room Award in 2007 for The Little Dog Laughed (Best Actor). His other Red Stitch credits include Wild East, The Winterling and Yellow Moon.
