Detroit opens this week and it’s going to be a hot ticket in more ways than one, so I suggest you get it in the diary! A superb dark comedy, this Obie Award-Winning play is brilliantly written by Lisa D’Amour. It is also the first time Ensemble members Paul, Brett, Ngaire & Sarah have all worked together and I’ve loved watching their onstage relationships flourish. This is one of the joys of the ensemble – how the familiarity and history between our actors brings unique chemistry to the performances. Introduce the brilliant Chris Wallace, who we’re thrilled to be working with for the first time, and the fine directorial hand of Tanya Dickson, and Detroit is a show you won’t want to miss!
See you at the theatre,

“When you are at zero anything can happen.
It’s like total possibility.”
Ben and Mary are battling through life in a suburb struggling with economic downturn. When Sharon and Kenny move in next door they do the neighbourly thing and invite the newcomers to a barbeque. So begins a somewhat unlikely friendship. The couples’ vulnerability brings them together in a delirious, dangerous frenzy of unleashed inhibitions and risk.
The Obie Award Winning, Pulitzer finalist play is an unsettling investigation of middle-class aspirations, suburban isolation and the divide between rich and poor.
